You’d make a good affiliate if: you have a passion for interior design tech and/or simplifying the interior design process and are: an industry coach, run an awesome blog that other designers read, have an awesome podcast, organize or host events that other designers go to, guest speak at these aforementioned events, or are just a genuinely influential and trustworthy person in the industry!
So why become a Mydoma Studio Affiliate Partner?
Other than the fact that you love our software and want to use your platform to help interior designers discover Mydoma Studio? (of course). Getting paid is one good reason. We’ll let you give out exclusive discounts on the Mydoma Studio software which helps you project that “I’ve got connections” persona. In some cases, we may even cross-promote with your business.
So now that we’ve got that covered, here are some ideas that can help you to be a successful affiliate partner.
Videos are great if your audience prefers to be shown how to do something rather than be told. Some suggestions for what your video can demonstrate are: product review, features overview, and how you use it for your business or how someone else could use it for theirs. Looking to create some shorter content? Make one that focuses on just your favourite feature.
You can also make videos about all your favourite tools (non-Mydoma ones included) and feature Mydoma Studio in it.
P.S. If you do reviews should be 100% truthful, no one trusts someone who’s just sooo in love with everything. Be honest and talk about what you like and where you think we can improve. This goes for all products your review, not just us 🙂
#2 Blog posts
This is pretty straight-forward and the topics we’d suggest are similar to those of the video suggestions. With blog posts, we’d also recommend that you be sure to include some screen shots so non-users will be able to follow along fairly easily.
…Our way is much easier
This is an area where cross-promotion kicks in. For those who have a really awesome product or service that would benefit our users, we offer collaboration opportunities.
Joint webinars make sense when our products/services make a lot of sense when used together for design professionals.
We can also do two separate webinars where we share your webinar event with our users and vice versa.
Whether you run your own podcast or make frequent guest appearances on others’ because you’re “a genuinely influential and trustworthy person in our industry” this can be a great way to make the most of your partnership with us.
In this instance we’d recommend talking about Mydoma Studio in a way that makes sense and not just random name-dropping. For instance, if you’re talking about running your own business and we help you stay organized talk about that. If you’re talking about collaborating with clients or selling e-design packages and we’ve helped you with that, share that experience.
This could also be another opportunity for cross-promotion if your podcast topics are generally things that would benefit our users to listen to, we’d be happy to put a link in our newsletter about it or share a few episodes socially.
#5 Working one-on-one to get set-up
If you’re a design coach or teach a design class (local or online) a super easy way to promote is to just tell the clients that you work with one-on-one. If you’re already working with them, you’ll know which features of our software will be most important for them and can help guide them through. You could even offer some value-added services here. For example, if your clients want to sell design packages but struggle with what to include or how to market them, you could provide a service where you help them to do this.
#6 Speaking engagements, events
This could really be broken into two, but this list is getting pretty long and these kind of go hand-in-hand.
If you frequently speak at design related events and are already talking about ways that interior designers can improve their business, why not mention Mydoma? You could even hand out business cards with your affiliate link information or include it in emails sent out after the speaking engagement to make it easy for your audience to find.
The same ideas can apply for those who organize or coordinate design related events. Affiliate links can be worked into email outs, handouts, etc.
This is great because it can be used for pretty much everybody. It’s super easy to embed an affiliate link into your newsletter with a little blurb about why you support using Mydoma Studio.
**Remember to only send email newsletters to those who have given you permission to do so.
So that’s it, that’s all I’ve got for now. Do you participate in any other affiliate programs? Are you doing some other neat things to promote those affiliates?
