Happy May! I’m happy to report that we’ve made some incredible additions to Mydoma lately. I hope you’re excited by these new additions and improvements as I am because we really strive to listen to your feedback and continually make Mydoma even more powerful and easy-to-use!
I’m really thankful for that dialogue we have with interior designers of all kinds… but without further ado, here are 10 new things we brought to Mydoma in April of 2023.
We’re happy to say that mobile in-app product clipping is here! This is an absolutely game-changing feature that we are so incredibly excited about. Now, with the Mydoma app on your phone, you can easily source and save product without having to go to your desktop computer. Simply open the clipper from within the app, go to the vendor site, and then easily start copying over images and specs to your product library. With this addition, product clipping with Mydoma is fast, saves time, AND is super convenient!
Now, onboarding your clients and getting them settled in their studio is even easier! We’ve added a client help/resource center where designers can choose to build a help section for their clients using a pre-written selection of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and responses, creating their own FAQs, or using a combination of both. This is another big update that we’re super excited about, because we know it’s going to make onboarding and supporting your clients even easier for you!
Task Management is a powerful feature to keep projects on track and everyone accountable, but if you’ve been using Asana and Instagantt then we have good news – you can now import those tasks directly into Mydoma. This means that if you want to make the switch to Task Managment in Mydoma to keep everything in one place, you can migrate all your outstanding tasks quickly and easily!
Continuing on the Task Management train, we’ve now added the ability to create tasks templates. Now, if you have a common set of tasks for a project, you can create templates for them to expedite setting them up on new projects.
We’re giving you even more control of Design Boards now, because there’s a whole slew of new sizing options now available! You’re sure to find the size you need to help present your design vision your way!
And on that note, we’ve also added the ability to change the orientation of your Design Boards too! You’ll now have the option for either Portrait or Landscape view when you go to create a new Design Board.
Keeping things organized and all in one place is our raison-d’etre, so we’re happy to say we’ve added even more options to sort project proposals, invoices, and orders, as well as added more multi-select capabilities to those areas of the studio. This makes it even easier to sort and sift through everything – so you spend less time looking for something!
We’ve also brought a greater sense of organization to your projects in the studio too! You can now apply tags to your projects to help you keep them sorted, and, more easily filter them to see what you need. For example, say you work on projects outside of your city, or even your state; you could apply different tags to your projects to have them labelled with the location! Or, have them tagged with the type of project or service.
And once you’ve tagged your projects to your heart’s content, you can now filter on the Project Index page by tag, so, using the examples above, you could see just the projects in a certain location, or all the projects with a specific type, or attached to a certain service. There are so many ways you can use these two changes to better organize your studio!
Finally, we’ve made it easier to add products to your projects under your Products & Services tab by adding the ability to filter by product category tabs in the “Add Product” box. You’ll no longer have to scroll through everything to find the product you need, saving you tons of time!

Dixie Willard is an NCIDQ-certified residential interior designer whose 16 years of experience include commercial interior design at an architecture firm, space planning and styling at a high-end furniture store, e-design, and running her own firm. Because many of her projects involved clients who lived out of state until their home was finished, she’s had extensive experience working with clients remotely through Mydoma and video conferencing.
A Mydoma user since pretty much day one, Dixie also now works at Mydoma as a Product Manager, helping designers make the most of their studio – and their time!
