We all love designing, there’s a reason we got into this industry after all – so sometimes a beautiful project reaching its end is reward enough. But, an interior designer’s gotta eat (and maybe buy a fancy throw pillow or two), so inevitably we have to send that invoice, and make sure that money reaches our bank account. Whenever we spend our hard-earned money we want to be sure that we’re making the right choice – especially if we’re investing heavily into it. Reviews reassure your potential client that you’re the designer for the job, and establishes your competency, integrity, and, what they can expect out of working with you.
But how do you get those reviews?
Years ago I worked with the kind of real estate agent that one can only dream of. She was unbelievably knowledgeable about the process, incredibly accommodating, and shockingly resourceful. It was the kind of client experience you wish for no matter what you’re doing, but almost never get. She was a true talent. So at the end of the project I gave her a rave review, and a recommendation, to consider selling luxury homes.

The other day I just wasn’t in the mood for cooking. After a long day of baby cries and toddler tantrums, and fitting in bursts of “focused” work that lasted about, oh 3 minutes, the last thing I wanted to do was cook any sort of meal. So I decided to call up our old stand by when there’s just no energy left in the house, a local smokehouse market. Their menu is long, pretty primo, and shockingly reasonable.
