How Designers can use the Mydoma App for Interior Design Project Management

Every designer strives for efficiency and the best service they can provide to their clients. As designers we are constantly on the go and always finding inspiration, coming across the “perfect piece” for a client, sharing ideas, and collaborating – so not having to find a computer to enter project data is a necessity. So when the Mydoma App was released a few months ago, I was so excited that I didn’t have to run to my computer every time I wanted to work on my projects in Mydoma and collaborate with clients.

This app is a lifesaver for those of us that prefer to work on mobile devices and that don’t want to be chained to our computers all the time. Whether you are accessing it from your phone or your tablet, the app is clean and so easy to use for both you and your clients.

Let me show you what I mean:

When I’m on the go or in the field, I like to create a project and trade collaborators. All from the app, I can start a project, add my trade or client collaborators and add project details, images, dimensions and other field notes.

I love that I can add a product to my library, a client’s project or a passive income product I’m working on at any time all from the app. 

I can also make edits to products, add them to invoices and proposals, then send that right to my client. 

While I’m collaborating with my clients and using the app, each project still has the same wonderful functionality that my desktop studio has. From the Mydoma App I can:

  • Create projects and collaborate with clients
  • Message with clients and trades
  • Send contracts
  • Send questionnaires
  • Add and sell services
  • Creating proposals 
  • Sending invoices 
  • Schedule client appointments (calendar)
  • Upload and organize crucial project images, documents and specs
  • Create mood boards
  • Sign contracts
  • Book and schedule services
  • Chat with me
  • Approve products
  • Approve proposals
  • Pay invoices 
  • View renders and panorama tours 
  • View and click on mood boards
 
One of my favorite features of the app is the “moodboard”. In the in-app moodboard you can upload images from your phone, take them directly with your camera, and instantly upload them to a board, add rendered images directly from the visualizer, and add clickable hotspots. The product hotspot feature is a great tool to send clients additional specifications and images for each product on your board – you control how much your client sees. Hotspots are also great for creating clickable and shoppable concept boards using affiliate links.
