The #1 Upgrade to Make Your Interior Design Renders GLOW

March 30, 2023

When my company eDesign Tribe was acquired by Mydoma nearly 1 year ago, my #1 goal was to get back to what I love doing. The reason why I started the community, platform, and education in the first place back in 2018; to educate and bring designers together through training and community.

I am soooo happy to be doing this exclusively, and configuring new and innovative ways behind the scenes for designers to level up their businesses. It’s literally my favorite thing to do.

I’m in my zone creating new content and strategies using Mydoma and the Visualizer. Something that I’ve been incorporating into my website and client collaboration process is the 720 tour. I’ve been doing this since 2020, and every time it blows people away when they can “walk” through their new space. It also turns heads when it’s embedded into my website as an added feature for blogs and shop the look content too!

This weekend I posted a “how it works” VR reel on Instagram this weekend. But before I get to how it works, let’s break down what a 720 tour is. A 720 tour consists of more than two 360 panoramas that are then joined together (right inside the Visualizer). A 360 panorama tour allows you to “stand” in one place (as if your feet were planted on the floor) and you can look all around from that one spot. Up, down, and all around you. But a 720 tour allows you to advance in the space to another side of the room as if you were “walking” around the room. You can zoom in and see everything up close.

The Visualizer generates a link for the 720 tour that you can either embed into your website (additional iframe code required), share with anyone via the link, or with just a couple of clicks, embed it right into your Mydoma project.

Here is a quick video to show you how to create a 720 tour in the Visualizer.

And here is my reel showing how to use a VR headset and view it in VR (Virtual Reality).

Not only is VR a cool experience, it is also a service that sets you apart from the competition. While many of us have been doing this for years, some are just realizing how easy it is to add this to your service menu.

It’s a great way to add value to your service or as an additional fee to include. And as you can see, it’s super easy to incorporate using the Visualizer! It’s kind of a no-brainer to send your client a headset (here’s a link to the one I use – it is an affiliate link) and have them walk through their new design before committing to purchases. It’s a great way to “sell” your design concept and allow your client to “try before they buy” so to speak.

The validation that clients feel after they experience their design in VR is so much greater than what you can get from a 2D concept board. 2D just doesn’t cut it anymore – we have the technology to do better! THIS is the future of design, so come on and join us 🙂

If you haven’t had time to self-learn how to render using the training that is included with the Visualizer subscription, I invite you to join me for a Hands on Rendering workshop!

I host small classes for designers to follow along and create a render together resulting in a VR tour and how to create a video from your content. Last week I added NEW sessions – advanced rendering workshops, more dates for beginner workshops, beginner kitchen and bathroom workshops, and turning your renders into content to use for your social media marketing strategy.

This week I have a few spots left for the Friday training “Basics to Rendering Kitchen and Bathrooms”. We will be creating a small kitchen or bath together during the session so you walk away with that tangible design by the end (or after you watch the recording and practice a little bit!)
