The Mydoma Visualizer Tool You Can Use to Create Architectural Elements

April 13, 2023

On Saturday, I was teaching a hands-on advanced rendering workshop for designers that have been using the Mydoma Visualizer and wanted to learn some new skills to continue to advance. The class was awesome! Designers were asking great questions, and coming up with live solutions with demos as they asked was really fulfilling for me.

One thing in particular that I had shared during the class was how to use the “push/pull” tool in the “Material and Component” tab (formerly called construction).

If you are building things in Sketchup and importing them (especially architectural elements) boy is this a game changer for you!

Just like Sketchup, you have the ability to draw shapes right inside your room and push and pull them to create what you need. Need a custom built in? Done! Want to build a fireplace, staircase or custom moldings on a wall? Check, check and check!

I personally haven’t explored it because I use the white label cabinetry in the Mydoma library (Enterprise Catalog> Mydoma Library > Kitchen> Cabinetry), but I don’t see why you can’t create your custom kitchens RIGHT here inside the Visualizer using the Push/Pull tool.

This tool in the Visualizer is about to change the game for some of you and I can’t wait to see what you start to create!

Watch this quick video that explains how to do it:

I’d also LOVE to see you in a hands-on workshop soon! One week from today I’ll be hosting the “Turning your Renders into Content” workshop. I’m exceptionally pumped for this one because now that I’ve hosted quite a few rendering classes there are tons of designers that now posses the skills, but need to know what to do to promote themselves using the render assets they create.

One of my favorite things about being an online entrepreneur and inherent visual communicator is to turn my projects into content. My whole thing has always been to work smarter not harder, so when I have a project, whether it’s for a client, for my website/passive income, or a blog, I always make sure that it serves me as a marketing tool online as well!

How can I share my project? How does it help the client/reader overcome something? And why do they need me to do that? We have the visuals, now we need to tell a story. In this workshop we will be creating content together so that you learn how to do this using your existing and future rendering projects.

During the class we will use Instagram, Canva and the optional Inshot app to:

  • How to create a GIF using your rendered project (using Canva and a project you created)
  • Embed VR tours and shoppable images into your website from your Visualizer projects.
  • How to create a REEL on Instagram using your rendered content.
  • How to create stories using your rendered content.
  • Ideas and instructions on how to use your rendered content (VR tours, images and video) on your website.

Seats are limited and this class has been booking fast but there are a few more spots left- reserve yours today!
