contest details

Designer Virtual Home Tour Powered by Mydoma is your opportunity to tell your story and show off what you can do. You’ll design one or more rooms of a two-story home designed with both aging in place and young families in mind.

Pick one of our “clients”, get to designing, and win great prizes!

We’ll display all the design in a virtual community where our real-life community can tour the interiors and vote on their favourites.

Once you’ve registered for the contest, you’ll be provided with a floor plan template in the Mydoma Visualizer to build your design off of.

Not to worry if you don’t have much experience, we’ll provide training and the drag-and-drop functionality of the Mydoma Visualizer makes things easy!

We’ll also have weekly opportunities to help you polish your skills and to gain you entries for some raffles we’ll be hosting with amazing prizes.

AgingInPlace Profile

Aging in Place

The Jones Family: Mark & Cassandra Jones
Budget: Looking to invest in quality products

The Jones’s have 5 grown children,16 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Many of them live close by but sometimes they have family from out of town that comes to visit and they stay over for a night or two to sometimes a week.

They love to do everything together from cooking their meals to gardening in their backyard. But they also love when their family comes to visit and they bring energy and love into their home. They cook big meals in their kitchen and back porch. They enjoy having space for many people to sit but also for themselves to relax when they don’t have visitors in furniture that is comfortable for them.

They plan for this to be the last home that they purchase and want to design it in a way that fits their needs as they age gracefully in it together.

YoungFamily Profile

Young Family

The Greene Family:  Adrienne, Lisa, Aiden &  Parker
Budget: Flexible budget range

Adrienne is a graphic designer who loves interior design but often has a hard time putting everything together because she likes so many of the choices.

She believes she has a good design eye, but has a hard time merging her style with her wife’s and the functionality of a busy home with the kids. She likes to unwind with Yoga at the end of the day, loves the outdoors and is environmentally conscious.

Lisa is a catering chef who loves to cook at home, can be a bit messy in the kitchen but longs for organization in her home.. Very creative and works hard but likes to enjoy her downtime at home with her wife, kids and friends. Lisa loves to travel and explore new cuisines. She is always looking for a memento on her travels.

Aiden is in pre-school, Parker is about to start 3rd grade.
They love to play with their toys but their moms want them to be able to be tucked away in their main living areas.
